Caps, Gowns, and Fireworks: My Senior Year Grand Finale

Oh hey, it’s Saiya! Come join me on a trip down memory lane, back to the wild roller-coaster ride of my high school senior year.

We kicked off the year, sleepy, at the senior sunrise. Clumped together in anticipation, we watched the day break – a metaphor for the year of major change and growth that was about to unfold.

The year did roll out in a whirl of emotions, starting with the super energetic rallies where our chants echoed in the hallways, embodying our school spirit. Then came homecoming, which in true high-school-movie fashion, was the most glammed-up event of the year. My heart was pounding with surprise and delight when I was crowned queen, and having my childhood friend, Diego Rangel, by my side made it all the more special. My dad, my biggest cheerleader, had the brightest smile as he escorted me on the field that night. I'll always cherish that memory.

Keeping up with the year's dynamic, my best friend Mason and I nailed our Elvis and Priscilla Presley costumes for Sadie's dynamic duos theme. Memories made to last a lifetime.

Formal and prom? I skipped those! No regrets, though. I learned early on that it's okay to dance to the beat of my own drum. Plus, there were many other unforgettable moments, like cheering on my friends at their baseball senior night, the adrenaline-pumping grad night at Universal Studios, and those dreamy senior sunsets that painted the sky in hues of our shared memories.

In the mix of all this was the academic whirlwind – SATs, AP testing, college applications, essays, and managing responsibilities for CSF and NHS. All of that, and strutting down the runway in our school's fashion show, Ambience. Talk about a juggling act!

Graduation day was picture-perfect, a testament to our small-town charm, where ceremonies are still held on the football field. With the perfect weather setting the tone, we sat together, our aerial view writing out '2023' – a sight to behold. My friend Nick's insightful speech and the enchanting performance by Gabby and Jared added to the unforgettable evening. And the grand finale? Fireworks lighting up the sky!

Back home, my family, my pillars of strength, celebrated with a traditional chocolate cake with the sweetest words, "Congrats Saiya, Class of 2023". Each family member took turns saying something special about me, making my heart swell with gratitude and love.

Senior year was a wild ride – full of laughter, a few tears, lessons, growth, and a whole lot of love. As I bid goodbye to high school and gear up for the next chapter, I look back at the person this journey has shaped me into – stronger, wiser, and ready for the world.

And that, my friends, was my senior year – a journey of self-discovery, fun, hard work, and transformation. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
